Greetings from 12135 N Street, ladies. My dad arrives this evening for a Fourth of July weekend sure to work anyone's ass off :-) On Friday, we'll be painting the eves on my house, cleaning the gutters and any other at-home projects that surface. I'm getting rid of the lame number stickers above my door and will install actual numbers on the siding. I'm thinking of above the mailbox, but am not sure just yet.
It sure is hot, isn't it? I have every miniblind in my house closed tight, and the A/C has been running since late last week. I'm ready for fall (I think).
Katie, can you burn me a copy of the Jason Mraz (sp?) CD and send it my way? I'd like to give him a good listen. I've grown quite fond of the "You and I Both" song, which has received significant airplay on 106.9 The City.
And speaking of music, I'm going to see The Jayhawks play at Sokol July 13. I can't find anyone who wants to go with me, but I don't care. I love this band! Opening for The Jayhawks will be The Thorns, which is a new bad comprised of Matthew Sweet, Shawn Mullins and the lead singer of The Jayhawks, whose name I can't remember at the moment. Should be a kick-ass show.
