Shannon (and Lindsey, too): Your mom's 50th birthday is next month. Are you planning any type of party, surprise or otherwise? My mom wants to know. Also, word on the street is that UJ will be in town for the Husker-Penn State football game Sept. 11. AGH! Perhaps, however, this would be a good time to have a party, if you were planning on it. My mom said she'd help (I will, too) with any planning, should you want to do anything. Let me know your thoughts.

My trip to Denver went by much too fast! Although the weather was pretty toasty, I had a great time. We catched Saturday night's Colorado Rockies game against the Milwaukee Brewers. (Rockies won 13-8, by the way.)

On Sunday, we hit the Tattered Cover book store (I bought "Bee Season" by Myla Goldberg) and the Cherry Creek Mall. Had fun shopping and just hanging out.

We swam Saturday afternoon, and I got pretty red. Thankfully, my face isn't peeling too much. I'm hoping the same holds true for my arms, neck and chest.
