Bad news, Katie. It looks like the Bright Eyes show Oct. 14 sold out.

Well, ladies, some news from Omaha that you'll be happy to hear: It looks as though I'm getting a kitten! Here's the story...

Eric, our sports editor at the Leader, has a sister whose cat had kittens about three months ago. I was talking to Eric on Friday about getting a cat, and he said his sister would give me one...for free!

Eric and I are going to his sister's house Tuesday afternoon to take a look at the kittens. Eric says there's a little orange one that's perfect for me :-)

So, since the kitten will be free, I'll just have to pay for it to be de-clawed. Depending on whether it's a boy or a girl, I may or may not get it fixed. What's your suggestion?

Also, what kind of shots will it need to get?

I'll let you know how it goes! I'm so excited!

Thanks for the photos, Katie. Your cat is so adorable! And, he's so tiny, too! Any idea how big he will get?

Shannon and I had a lovely dinner @ P.F. Chang's last night, followed by our trip to the Clinique counter at Von Maur. The Bonus Buy items are pretty great. What's most funny, though, is that Shannon and I basically wore the same pair of shoes. Hers are in a dark salmon; mine, black.
