What are everyone's plans for the weekend? Life does go on after the cat fiasco, I assure you :-) Tonight, Matthew and I are having dinner at Kobe Steakhouse for our friend's birthday. That should be fun. Tomorrow, we have Margaret's wedding. (I work with Margaret at the Leader, by the way.) The reception is at the Renaissance Mansion near 39th and Harney. I hear it's just gorgeous inside.

That's 'bout it from N Street.

Yeah, Shannon. I just felt like I didn't think the whole scenario through enough to make a good decision. I could easily see myself getting an older cat down the road, one that doesn't need as much care early on.
Morning, ladies. Thanks for all of the advice, but I decided it was best to return the kitty to its original home last night. Matthew went with me, and we both agreed a kitty that's just 3 months old needs more care than an hour in the morning and a few hours at night. I couldn't even spend time with it on the weekends, since I'm at Nu-Trend. We talked about me getting one that's a little older, too.

I guess I feel like I just rushed into this without thinking things through, you know?

Thanks for your advice, though. I just considered yesterday a kitty test run. I know I made the right decision :-)

Hi Shannon. Yes, I did get all the supplies you mentioned, plus a few toys. But, to be honest, I'm already having second thoughts. This cat won't come anywhere near me. It meows quite a bit. And I'm so nervous, I don't feel like I can relax AT ALL. I feel like I have to be around this cat 24/7.

I know this sounds crazy, and I've only had the cat a few hours, but would you guys be willing to take the cat for a while? Maybe for good? I don't know. I've been with this cat for five hours now and my stomach is in knots. I just want it to go away.

I think I made a BIG mistake. Help :-(
Welcome home, new kitty! It's official, ladies. I'm a cat owner! My precious darling is all of 3 months old. I picked it up today around 1:30 p.m. I have no idea if it's a boy or girl; the owner didn't know, either. A trip to the vet, I imagine, will tell me for sure.

Matthew, my geeky sweetie, wants to name the cat Tolkien, after the author of The Lord of the Rings. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that one. Once I know the sex of the cat, I'll pick a name.

Shannon/Lindsey: How soon should I take my kitten to the vet?

I'm sure I'll have more questions; watch for 'em here! For now, here are my photos :-)

Shannon, don't worry about missing out on a trip to the humane society. After I get the kitten, I'll want you to come over and show me the ropes, things in my house to watch out for, etc.

As for names, I'm thinking of Simon if it's a boy; Hazel if it's a girl :-)

Happy Sunday!
